Bridal Fitting..

So I came down to the bridal shop earlier this week, tried on a few outfits and chose 3 final outfits for my wedding. I took 3 hours to do so.. I came in clueless and overwhelmed.. Based on my experience, here are my tips for you to make your decisions easier, faster and most importantly with no regrets..

1) Do your homework

Browse through all their collections before you come down for your fitting.. this is to ensure that you don’t miss out anything that you will like to try on cos shop space is limited so not all their outfits are on display PLUS u can see it better when it is worn by someone else instead of hanging on the rack..

2) Wear a proper lingerie

Lol… This may be a no brainer to some but some may be clueless… Unless you don’t mind the shop assistant seeing you in your torn or embarrassing undergarments, by all means.. (and pls shave if you have to…)

3) Take pictures after you try it on

Get your friend, fiancé or whoever you’re with to take a picture of u in that outfit. Trust me cos sometimes you can see it better on pictures than in the mirror.. And you will not remember how you looked like in every single outfit you tried on for the last hour.. pictures help.. full length pls..

4) Be confident with your choices

Most of them will not allow you to make changes once you’ve made your choices so choose what you love, what makes you feel comfortable and confident on your big day.. What you like may not be what you companion(s) like.. but ultimately, it is YOUR choice, it is what YOU will be wearing.. So be confident..

Well, that’s about it.. I hope it helps.. 🙂

Joyful January..

So last 2 weeks, I became an aunt to a beautiful baby boy.. and on the same day itself, a godmother to a beautiful baby girl.. Both ladies have safely delivered on the same day at the same hospital and in the same ward! Surprisingly convenient… 🙂

Welcome baby Nelydia..

And welcome Ilhan Darwish..

99 Days..

How time flies… 99 days left now… What’s been done? More things have been done.. It’s not a lot but at least there’s progress… Decided to have the wedding at our home after much hurdles and restrictions… I don’t really like it as I prefer to do a combined wedding somewhere nice cos I really hate the researching part for catering but nowhere meets my criteria.. It’s tough.. Most of the places do not allow open fire or external catering so I don’t have much of a choice here..

We’ve decided to have it minimal with no exchanging of lavish goods and throw everything else for our future holidays instead of to the wedding itself.. Oh! And he wants to take the marriage course so I guess we have to go..

Happy 2017!

Yeah, I know I’m a lil late but well.. Got a lil busy… Happy new year!

How did I spend my New Year’s?

Every year end, we have our annual get-together, gift exchange staycation somewhere.. This year, I booked a shophouse stay from Airbnb. Its like a modern, unique hostel, with your own ensuite bedroom. Located in Geylang Lor 24a, it may not be comfortable for some as it’s in the red light district. But we had no problem with it.. Loads of food, people and entertainment around.. The room is pretty, spacious and lovely.. We loved it.

Hmmm… Summary of 2016…

My pet Cheepy gave birth to 2 adorable naughty babies, started on an important class, revived this old blog, one of my close friends, B, is finally seeing someone after being single for a long time.. Got myself engaged to my long time bf, got ourselves our very own new car and purchased our first home.. I must say its a pretty big leap for me… Things moved so fast I couldn’t keep up..

And then 2017 arrives and so many things will be happening this year.. My BFF is giving birth to my second god-daughter very soon and will be moving in to her new home end of this year.. I’m officially gonna be an aunt as my one and only bro will be expecting his first baby very soon too… And supposedly a new home somewhere near where I’m currently staying now. One of my close friends is getting married and hopefully B will seal herself that boy she’s seeing.. Last but not least, I’m getting hitched.. In exactly 104 days, I’m gonna finally move out of my parents’ home.. Lol!

It should get pretty exciting down the road.. So many major changes coming.. Here’s to 2017! 🙂

Coldplay’s Sold Out Concert in Singapore 2017

Ok, so I need to say my piece as I’ve been holding it in for so long… I am one of their fans who doesn’t have a ticket for their “A Head Full Of Dreams Tour”concert here in Singapore. I was unfortunately one of those people who got redirected to a virtual waiting room for the longest time ever.. And the best part was of course, coming to an unavailable page. How awesome! Well that made my whole day crappy.. It was real shitty..

Initially, I was actually thinking to myself.. Yeay, they opening up a second show here! (The first one sold out in less than 2 hours since the general sale opened!) But it shouldn’t be that hard to get my hands on them since everyone rushed for the first one already. And not forgetting that the organiser had released more tickets for that night. But Alas! The second show sold out on me again before I even had the chance to get in.. Thanks to that stupid virtual waiting room that Live Lushington Asia Singapore decided to conveniently add before you get to see the seats.. I mean seriously???!!!!! Why am I so unlucky??????? Even my friend didn’t get past that waiting room..

I’m honestly quite surprised by the popularity… I’ve never had any issue buying concert tickets like this EVER. So I thought, ok fine.. I’m just unlucky, Coldplay are just too popular now and they have too many fans here in Singapore… Which is good for them..

BUT NO, that’s not true.. Ok, maybe it’s true but that’s not the reason why it’s sold out fast! Guess what I saw just a few hours after ticket sale started?? People selling tickets online at more than half the price!! It’s been a few weeks now.. And the price has been more ridiculous than ever.. $128 tickets are going for at least $400 now.. That’s freaking daylight robbery!!! I feel sick knowing that people bought these tickets more than what they need or even worse, not having the intention to go just so they can make profits out of it. They are undeniably earning out of our misery.. I’m truly disappointed. Human can be so greedy… Sigh! The cons of the convenience of the Internet.. Right about anyone can just get what they want without having to work for it.

This is the moment where I miss those times when you have to physically queue for tickets.. People actually worked for it and earned it.. At least it’s not that painful to see people selling them online cos I know at least they worked for that profit instead of sitting or lying down comfortably facing a screen, clicking away while others suffer for their greed.. And this does not only apply for concert tickets. Same goes for NDP tickets. It used to be hard work to earn your spots to watch the parade. Now? Fucking ballots! Years gone by, and I’ve never gotten any since the ballot started.. Ya, start counting the years! And again, some people just joined the ballot for fun, got it and sold it online to make profits.. While citizens like me who really wants to watch the parade, gets to “enjoy” it at home. Sounds fair to you? Not at all! Pardon my language but I’m just so angry…. frustrated… It’s just so unfair!

Back to Coldplay, they said they will do something about these scalpers… How? By voiding the tickets sold online.. Wow! That helps! Who the hell knows if they’ll really do it. And even if it’s true, they are still at the wining end. Scalpers lose their money(but not if they manage to sell it to desperate buyers), desperate buyers will definitely lose their money (for paying overpriced tickets or for having void tickets and sellers won’t refund their money), the performer/artist will lose the capacity of their fans for the concert(unable to enter due to void tickets or didn’t get to purchase actual tickets). Who is at the top of the winning chart? The organisers of course! They’ve already got the amount of money they want.. What have they got to lose? Nothing! Do you think they care what happens after that? Do you think they care about the people’s welfare? I don’t think so.. It is a business after all isn’t it?

I seriously think we need to bring the old system back.. Earn your tickets.. Queue or whatever… Do something to get it.. Not just by clicking away. It’s far too easy and convenient for them! Or at least for the first few days or something… Just to be fair for those busy people who doesn’t really have the time to queue.. I know by this way, it will definitely decrease the amount of scalpers.  If the organisers are truly genuine in wanting to tackle this issue, there’s the solution for u.. But u and I both know they are not.. Those are just words to try to please the angry mob… I’m totally not buying it. I’d rather they do something effective and practical.

Ok, (not) enough ranting for now.. But I have to stop here before it gets too long.. I may just end up paying more just to catch Coldplay in Bangkok instead of my hometown. At least I can kill 2 birds with one stone. Thanks a lot u fuggin’ greedy scalpers!😒 Let’s hope for karma..

Signing off,

Angry and Disappointed

I still have yet to settle on my wedding venue… People are pressuring me already and I’m still undecided.. My hopes are getting thinner and thinner as one by one, the replies I’m getting is not in my favour.. I will try to list  my choices down in the next few posts when I’m not too busy with work..

Yes, I’m working… (I’ve been bumming for 8 years). Not full-time though..just part-time. 4 hours, 3 days a week. But hey, it is still a job.. My friends teased me about it.. (They still do actually). Been here since the company just started.. So it’s coming 2 years now.. Or maybe a lil past 2 years. Supposed to be temporary till they get more staff but I guess I should start making money during my super-free time instead of sleeping. I’ll story on that later.. So many things to fill up…

I should make a checklist soon…. So many things are left hanging and I’m running out of time.. Sigh.. How time flies…

Ok, it’s bedtime.. 8am now and I need to wake up in 4 hours..
